Twisted-Pair 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Interface plus Ultra-Wide SCSI PCI card (Kit P0971UC). This card combines a twisted-pair Ethernet port with an external SCSI port. When installed in the Model P79 processor, this card enables the processor to have one external SCSI bus. When installed in the Model P80 processor, this card enables the processor to have a second external SCSI bus. In the instance of both the Model P79 and Model P80, the twisted-pair 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port on the P0971UC upgrade kit combo card allows for connection to a secondary Ethernet connection.
By default, the P0971UC kit is installed in the Model P81. This card enables the Model P81 processor to have an external SCSI bus. The twisted-pair 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection on the card is the port that connects to the I/A Nodebus. The onboard NIC connection on the Model P81 is a 1000/100/10 Mbps Ethernet port for use as a secondary network connection.
